Mashrafe Mortaza is known as 'Narail Express' as he used to bowl quite fast at the early stage of his career.  But nowadays he bowls at reduced pace, mainly because of his injury problems. Nevertheless, he still provides crucial breakthroughs with the ball in hand.

Mashrafe Mortaza made his test debut against Zimbabwe in 2001. He didn't even play any first class match before that. That shows how impressive he was in the beginning.  He took 4 wickets in his very first test match. Mashrafe made his ODI debut in the same year against the same opposition.
Mashrafe played an important role in many significant victories of Bangladesh cricket team. In most cases, his early strikes helped Bangladesh to win those matches. No one can forget his epic spell against India in the 2007 cricket world cup when he took 4 wickets for 38 runs.

In 2009, Mashrafe Mortaza was appointed as captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team. But, he got injured in his very first test match as a captain. Mashrafe made his comeback in 2010, but he was still struggling with his injuries. He even missed The Cricket World Cup 2011 because of these injury problems, which was the most tragic moment of his career.

Mashrafe Mortaza was appointed as captain for the 2nd time in 2014. Bangladesh played 2015 Cricket World Cup under his captaincy. Bangladesh progressed to the quarter-final of the tournament, beating England. After the world cup, Bangladesh won ODI series against Pakistan, India and South Africa. Mortaza's brave captaincy played a major role in these successes.

From the very beginning, Mashrafe Mortaza has struggled with his injury problems. Mashrafe has had 7 major operations in his legs, knees and ankles. Yet, he never stopped fighting. He came back from injuries again and again; and came back stronger than before. Which is why he is such an inspiration for young players.

Mashrafe Mortaza's wife, Sumona Haque Shumi, was his college friend. They got married in 2006. Mashrafe Mortaza's wedding was attended by many of his teammates. Mashrafe and Shumi are blessed with a girl and a boy.

However, Mohammad Ashraful has not done justice to his talent. He was inconsistent from the very beginning of his career, and it did not changed much over the years. Someone of his calibre should have achieved much more in his career. A batting average of 24.00 in test and 22.23 in ODI does not reflect his immense talent. He is an entertainer, but seriously underachiever.

Ashraful is often been criticized for his poor shot selection. So many times he got out playing ugly shots when he was looking so good. Lack of self-confidence was another major factor to his failure.

Mohammad Ashraful's Career

Mohammad Ashraful started playing cricket at a very early age. He went to the academy which was run by veteran  coach Wahidul Gani. Ashraful made his first-class debut in 2000. He showed a glimpse of promise in his debut season. Bangladesh was struggling in the international cricket at that time, there was lack of quality players. So, it was evident that Ashraful will get a call-up at some point of time. It didn't took long. Ashraful made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2001. In the same year,  he made his test debut against Sri Lanka. He scored a hundred in the 2nd innings, and became the youngest player to score a test hundred. After this hundred, he became a superstar overnight. Peoples expectations were high of him, but he crumbled under pressure. He was dropped from the team after a series of bad performances.

Mohammad Ashraful represented Bangladesh in the 2003 cricket world cup. He had a very poor world cup, scored 71 runs with an average of 14.20.
In 2004, Ashraful got his 2nd test century, scored an unbeaten 158 against India. Ashraful scored his maiden ODI hundred against Australia in 2005, which helped Bangladesh winning the match.

In 2007 world cup, Ashraful played an outstanding knock of 87 against South Africa, this innings was full of innovation. Bangladesh was able to beat South Africa for the first time with the help of this outstanding knock.

After the world cup, Ashraful was appointed as captain of the team. But his inconsistency and poor form didn't let him enjoy the captaincy. After the 2009 T20 world cup, he was axed from the captaincy. It was hoped that his batting form will improve with the release of pressure, but that didn't happen. Ashraful was dropped from the squad several times, but everytime he fought back. Ashraful was part of World Cup 2011 squad.

In 2010, Ashraful scored 190 against Sri Lanka in the first test of the series, which is his career best.

Spot-fixing controversy


Ashraful was accused of being involved in match fixing during BPL 2013. He confessed about his involvement. Bangladesh Cricket Board was quick to react, initially Ashraful was banned from all kind of cricket for 8 years, then it was reduced to 5 years.

Mominul Haque's Biography


Mominul Haque was born on September 29, 1991 at Cox's Bazar, Chittagong, Bangladesh. He was passionate about cricket from the very early age. His dream was to play for Bangladesh National Cricket Team. To make his dream true, Mominul joined BKSP(Government-funded autonomous sports institute). He was impressive in the differnt age-group level cricket. Mominul made his first-class debut for Dhaka Division in 2008-09 season. Mominul  Haque was picked for the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup squad. By then, he was considered as an upcoming talent. Hence, he was included in the National Cricket Academy. Mominul was outstanding there also. He continued to score runs in the domestic level. That earned him a  spot in the Bangladesh 'A' team for the West Indies tour. Mominul scored a fantastic 150 in the opening match of the tour. Back from the tour, he scored back to back centuries. Mominul came into the spot light when he scored an unbeaten 53 of just 28 balls for Barisal Burners against the Khulna Royal Bengals in Bangladesh Premier League 2012. He won the man of the match award for this spectacular effort. At last,  Mominul's hard work paid off. Mominul was picked for the National Team for the ODI series against West Indies. He replaced injured Shakib Al Hasan.

He took part in the under-19 World Cup in 2012 & showed breathtaking performances in this competition. In his initial life, Soumya Sarkar was lucky to develop his cricket career in the cricket world.

He was in BKSP in 2008-2009 sessions and played one matches in Under-19 world cup in 2010. In an ODI match against Qatar he scored a double-hundred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He was debuted in 2014 with an ODI against Zimbabwe and scores 20 runs from 18 balls. He has showed his ever best performances against India the matches while they visit Bangladesh in 2015. He bat well in ODIs and T20 and scored highest run in the series.
